current thoughts and happenings
1) Cast meeting 1
Yay... we've finalized the cast so if everything goes smoothly we'll be able to start rehearsals by 14 January! The directors met with the cast today at Pasta Cafe in Wisma Atria to discuss some issues regarding the script, rehearsals, individual roles and general expectations.
It was nice to see old friends, like 2 of my seniors who were in the executive committee, and a few who are my juniors but have worked together in the previous Chadian production last year. We've gotten 2 current CLDDS members involved (JC2 next year), including one who is our female lead. Hope she's able to handle the stress.
Some photos taken by Weilun (our current producer) and posted originally on the CLDDS blog.
Group photo of the cast (MIA: 4 persons) and the 2 scriptwriters cum directors. The guy and girl, both in white, who are seated right in front in this picture are our male and female leads. The pair seated right behind me are the main supporting characters.
Listening to what Jimson has to say about the play.
2) Right now, I am...
Right now, I am job-hunting. Yes, I've officially graduated from NUS and am now trying to join the job market. Ha... yah, sent out a few applications but no news so far. I take it that it's due to the holidays. Some emails have even bounced cos their mailboxes exceeded the space limit!!Anyway, been applying for both temps and perms, from customer service to admin to social work. Hope I can hear some good news soon. Or else, hope I can hear some very good news by mid-Feb (where the bonuses have been given out :P)
3) Tsunami anniversary
How time flies. Today marks the day where the world was devastated by the Tsunami that hit South East Asia a year ago. Makes u think how unpredictable life can be. Almost every channel since yesterday has been airing specials about the day the Tsunami hit and the aftermath. It's depressing, but from watching the survivors who were interviewed, life has to go on. It's something that touches me. Amidst the vice that plagues the human race, it is this resilience and will to live that often reminds us that there is still beauty in us.
4) Happy New Year
Well, the new year is coming and it's the time to sing Auld Lang Syne. Have u made your new year resolutions? Here are mine...
1. to find a good job and settle down in my new life as a working individual.
2. give mum, dad and my brother a good treat when I get my first paycheck.
3. lose 4 kgs.
4. seek membership in those places where they offer unlimited workout courses including dance and areobics classes for a single price package.
5. hope cupid will finally notice me.
6. be more confident of own physical appearance if I dun manage to lose weight but instead gain weight.
7. conquer my fear of roads and finally start driving. Alone.
8. make a good show out of Chadian 7 - Colours of my Rainbow.
9. keep in contact with good friends.
10. learn to let go of things, learn to be happier and more optimistic and not dwell on my misfortunes and think that people are simply out to trample on me. Must also convince self that people are not evil and sadistic by nature and to save some hope for mankind.
What are yours?
Btw, just a sidenote. Every thought of what that song Auld Lang Syne is all about? That song which eveyone knows the tune but can hardly remember the lyrics? Here's some interesting info. I never knew it's in Scottish!!! And did u know that it was originally a Scottish poem and there may have been different tunes to it?
