regular dose of ramblings
Presenting an inconherent account of recent events.
First, I'm officially overweight now... sigh...
Anyway, did my Christmas shopping recently. Gosh! Christmas shopping is HELL, even if u decide to venture out on a weekday! It's almost like no one is working, and the whole of Singapore is stuck at shopping malls. Stressed... And frankly, thou there're not many people whom I have to give presents to this year, still I seem to have spent a lot sia. Especially when I accidently broke one of them before even wrapping it (a S$12 watch which admittedly isn't anything expensive but still unique and one of its kind) and had to shop around for another gift all over again.
I also made a trip to the Creative building to get my Zen Micro fixed. It all happened a few days ago, when I realized that the connection from the earphones to the player was faulty, and a slight touch of the wire caused the vocals and certain instruments to become muted. Blasted MP3 player made me think that it was my new Philips earphones which gave me problems. In fact, I was all ready to storm into the Philips service centre to bombard about their poor QC which left me with a pair of $40 earphones that spolied only 3 days after I used them. Fortunately while waiting for the bus, I tried to listen to my MP3 using the original earphones and what do u know? Same problem! Sheepishly walked away from the queue for the bus and turned my bombardment to my Zen Micro instead.
I seemed to have developed a kind of rash and argumentative personality recently.
Anyway, I was back to my polite self today at the Creative Care centre and they said they had to replace it with a new unit. So here I am, with a brand new Creative Zen Micro (except the battery and the earphones), so quite pleased with that. It's a one-year warranty so didn't have to pay too. Only complaint about Creative is that they don't have a collection centre at a centralized location, so all problems with you Creative products have to be taken to their one and only service centre in an ulu place in Jurong. Not everybody has cars, you know!
A sudden thought crossed my mind... do u think it's the Philips earphones that spoiled my MP3 player? I mean, the problem only arose after I switched to using that. Is that even possible?
Ok, enough about material goods. As for the play, we've finally settled the casting issues of the play, and I'll be playing one of the smaller roles cos we decided that it'll be better for us as directors not to deal with too many actors (too many actors = too many opinions and voices = some chaos). However, we are facing some problems regarding backstage issues which may mean that I would have to forgo the role and either concentrate on being either the overall director or the stage manager. We'll see how after tomorrow's meeting...
Getting rather stressed about the production right now. The script is barely completed, with more than 10 scenes more to go. And now with a bunch of actors under us, we have to ensure that everyone plays their part (figuratively and literally) well and willingly. Having been a director once during school days, I experienced first hand how hard it was handling these actors, especially those with an 'artsy' temperament (ie. great actors but never know what they're thinking about). Haha, really 自作自受 la.
Results will also be out on 21 dec, and if everything is fine (I really do hope), I'll start sending resumes and hopefully find a job by beginning next year. Yet another stressor, hope I can cope.
Yup, there concludes my dose of ramblings!
