post-performance stuff (the reunion 2007)

Taken after the performance The Reunion on 18 August 2007. Amusingly, CLDDS alumni was the very first group to pack and leave the premise, gathering in this excellent dessert shop (owned by Reene's friends) for supper.

In fact, when Lily and I attended the post-performance celebration last Saturady (1st Sep), we felt like two individuals with autism who sat away from the other groups (which were each more than 10-man strong). Problem with being the smallest performance group, I guess.

Anyway, as part of the post-performance celebrations, the committee arranged for us to visit the Ang Mo Kio - Thye Hwa Kwan Hospital in the morning to do a mini performance, give out some goodie bags and basically just to interact with the patients. It was a very heartwarming experience, especially since I got to get up-close and personal with some patients over there. At the end of the day, it was really quite a nice arrangement, though the performance items were... Ok, let's just say it was saved by an impromptu Teochew opera performance by one of us (he was from the Chinese orchestra group).

We then adjourned to a restaurant at Grassroots Club. Incredible!! This is the first time I have experienced such luxury from a post-performance celebration! Apparently, according to the committee, the performance actually yielded a profit. Not used to hearing the word "profit" uttered at any of the past performances I've been at.

Anyway, lunch was fun as Lily and I sat at the table with those wacky, fun-loving guys from Guitar Club with all their cheeky banter and asides, such as acting as a married couple on stage as we screamed "Yum Seng" to mark the end of a journey. We even got to hear a sample of their live band performance on MP3 to much laughs though frankly it wasn't too bad at all. So we weren't as autistic as before.

Only thing that was perplexing and quite disturbing was the fact that Zuowei had promised to turn up but failed to, and he remained unreachable till this day even though his phone rings. What happened??? It's very very unlike him. Hope nothing went wrong...

Zuowei, if you see this leave a message!!
