Official Synopsis:
Aspirations, material needs, loved ones - which do you live for? What holds you down to reality, however cruel and unforgiving it may be? What happens when a dream, so close that you could almost feel its warm glow encircling you, suddenly falls through your grasp and shatters?
For some, the pain of shattered dreams is hidden deep within the unconscious, while the mind manifests into a world of its own - a world that provides a safe haven from the harshness of reality, where dreams are still beautiful and happiness is abundant. In this self-professed utopia, no one is allowed in, like a little girl who clings on stubbornly to a kaleidoscope, keeping others from peering into the beautiful images that only she can see.
Yongming is a man full of dreams. He is a doting husband and a devoted father who had great expectations for a life that he would find contentment in, expectations which really cumulated into a very simple wish for a happy family. However, reality shattered those dreams as his wife was taken from him, while his daughter, Wensi, became increasingly disturbed by delusions of paranoia. As he struggles to find solace in the coldness of the real world, Yongming finds himself sinking into depression, and turning to memories of his dead wife as a reminder of the days where life was simple and so full of hope.
We are vulnerable beings, and despite the advances of medicine and technology, the inscrutable nature of the human mind still leaves many feared yet intrigued by it. Such are the wonders of imagination that manages to conjure up alternative realities to escape from the stresses of life.
However, when imagination crosses into reality it becomes a just fine line away schizophrenia...

有些人选择把失去梦想的痛苦埋藏在潜意识里, 另外在有意识的世界里建立起自己的完美空间.这个空间没有他人, 没有残酷的现实. 唯有美丽的梦想和享不尽的欢乐. 就有如小女孩紧紧地抓着手中的万花筒, 不愿与他人分享专属于她彩虹般的美丽画面一样.
永明是一个充满梦想的人. 所有生活上的期许都是为了成就他最单纯的梦想 - 一个快乐的家. 事与愿违, 他的爱妻逝世,而女儿文思,又犯上了日益严重的妄想症. 固然他努力地在冰冷的真世界寻求安宁, 但却无奈地陷入忧郁. 唯有忆起与妻子一起的幸福日子,才可以让他得到少许的温存.
人是脆弱的. 科技与医术固然发达, 但人脑依然是令人百思不得其解的东西，所可以创造的异想世界与另一种现实足以让人逃避烦恼.
当人的想象越过现实,和精神分裂只有一线之差,谁又分的清呢?

Pearl, what is this chadian exactly? Ur play?
Funn, Chadian is the name of the bi-annual production held by the Anderson Junior College CLDDS Alumni. We're putting up one play this year (yes, the one I've always been talking about), and the English title is 'Colours of My Rainbow'.
It's a Mandarin production.
Is that your website or your Alumni's website where you're producing a performance for? What does Chadian mean anyway?
Like Cha Yi Dian will become ... I am sure you know ...
The website is the site for my production as created by the production team for this year's performance. The official AJC alumni is only providing the website space for us as a form of support.
The production is not affiliated to any organization officially, though we do get support from various organizations in terms of funding and publicity. The production is purely an artistic endeavour, and of course, as something to continue to link AJC CLDDS members even after we've graduated.
Cha is "tea", while Dian refers to something that's a classic.
