distrustful pearl on the prowl again
For those of u who hadn't noticed, I have a tagboard!! I know there're not many of u viewing this blog but perhaps try to help create that 'lively' impression for me, yah? =P
Finally met with LX today ^^, albeit only for 2 hours. So happy, haven't seen her for such a long time since she went to NIE. Sigh, I miss those days where we could just sit around and chit chat about just about anything and everything under the sun. She's a trainee teacher now, and from what she's saying it's tough-going. As if projects from NIE are not enough, she still has to teach and spend the rest of her waking hours on doing up lesson plans. LX's afraid that she may not pass her practical cos she finds it hard to control the discipline in her class. Kids nowadays... I can guess how it must feel like. Mum's a teacher also and I hear lots of horror stories from her about how kids nowadays can be so ill-disciplined and how unreasonable their parents can be. Wanted to be a teacher last time but now... will think twice.
Unfortunately had to leave after 2 hrs to meet up with Nick. Yup, found out more about that translating job. Never ever trust 2nd hand opinion, haha! Ok, KM probably wasn't that off, as in this is about translation. Just that this is actually a corporate video for some government organization, can't recall exactly which is it, and what Nick needs is a Chinese copy-writer (am I getting the terminology correct?), ie. someone to translate the English script into Chinese. He said experience is not essential, and he doesn't foresee much dificulties as long as I'm proficient in the written language. He also needs someone to do the Chinese voice-over for the video so I may have a chance to do that also, though I think not much chance cos he recorded my voice as a sample and he commented that I sounded too 'sweet'. Anyway, I've accepted the translating job =D
This is Nick's production company website: http://www.anonymousproduction.com
But darn!! Forgot to ask about my pay!!!!! Distrustful Pearl wonders if that pay is for real or KM just misinterpreted it....
