un pensamiento para ti...
~ Gabriel Garcia Marquez
it's that time of the year...
... to wonder how on earth NUS managed to squeeze itself among the top universities in the world. It's also that time of the year to stress out, eat lots of chocolate and lose all your hair trying to tear them out.
It's that time of the year to bid for modules.
Irritating thing about this system, is that places are sooo limited and yet we have some jokers who always try to raise the stakes to more than a thousand points, where that is about all an average student has on hand to spread among 5 modules. It's happening again this year for one of my modules. Com'on guys! I need that to graduate!!!!! Stop being such a prick!
Grrrrrr..... (*strands of hair start falling on the keyboard*)
Meanwhile, all my cats seem to have fallen sick. Looks like some kind of flu virus spreading around cats. To all cat owners out there, look out for ur cats!

Is NUS that bad?
MU is far worse. In fact we are supposed to have meritreocacy (aiyah! spelling!) system where entry into public local U are based on merit. So are our govt scholarships.
And every year there will be top 10 students being left out, excuse being they failed during interviews. And they shouldn't ask to do medicine unless they really wanna do it and not for the glamour. I am sorry to say I find it all pure bullocks.
I hate it when these people question our intelligent young ones whetehr they really wanna do this or that because let's face it, our top scorers have been top scorers since probably 7, they know what they want. And like my sis said, if you don't award the top 30 students in the country with a scholarship and priority placement, then who do you award? No wonder we have brain drain. I would have stayed in England or US as a top surgeon than to come back to this system.
Worse, we are worse.
