~ Gabriel Garcia Marquez

helloooooo....!!!!

I'm back from HK! Back as a fatter and poorer woman. Haha!

But the trip was fun ^^. Enjoyed myself a lot. Food was very very good, of course, only thing is that it's quite expensive to eat there. But what to do? Such a waste not to eat their local delicacies when there, ya? I bought boxes of Hang Heung wife's biscuits from there and boy, they were the BEST!!! Remember to get yourself a box if u are ever there! Shopping was lots of fun too, especially haggling at night markets like Ladies Market and Temple Street. We didn't know how to bargain on the first night, so I ended up with a rather expensive piece of household product (which actually, at 20 plus Singapore, isn't expensive for that quality, just that we thought that we could get it at an even lower price...). However, I'm proud to say that our bargaining skills got better later on, especially at Ladies Market.

As for the tourists attractions, we visited the Avenue of Stars on the day we reached, which frankly, wasn't much. The weather was mighty cold then too (abt 10 degrees). There's actually a programme called Symphony of Lights held by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, which really is a coordinated performance of music and lights which decorate the commerical buildings over at Hong Kong. Becuase the Avenue of Stars was located at the bank of the river of Kowloon, we were able to stay there to watch the show. Expected something fantastic, actually, like a laser show of sorts, so it was a little disappointing, considering that we had to stand in the cold wind to wait for the 15-minute show.

On the second day, we visited the Poh Lin Temple at Lantau Island, where the Big Buddha is. Very convenient to go there, I would say. Just take the MTR to the Tung Chung station then hop up on bus 23 and it takes u all the way there. Got 2 amulets for the family, which is sold there as part of the donation effort for the temple. After that, we stopped by at Disneyland! But but but... We didn't go in. At an entrance fee of HK$300, we simply couldn't make our money's worth cos my friend and I basically aren't the sort who would queue up for rides. However, there is another way to absorb the Hong Kong Disney magic at a low cost, as suggested by a family friend who lives there. All you have to do is to go to the MTR station, then transfer to the train that takes u right to the entrance of Disneyland. The train itself fun with it's mickey mouse windows and enchanting interior which includes bronze statuettes of Disney characters and pictures of the original Disneyland and of Walt Disney. It also has wonderful, soft, royal blue cushioned seats. The Disneyland train station is also beautifully decorated, and from there u can take a long walk into the facade where u are greeted with classic songs from Disney and pictures of their famous characters along the way.

Third day we visited the Wong Tai Sin temple and got our fortunes told. Quite accurate, I would say. Gave me lots of advice, for example, to let my eyebrows grow thicker, and to remove the mole under my eye (it suggests that I'll be worried for my kids constantly should I have kids), and told me that my prospective partner who will be most compatible with me should be someone with a round face like HK actor Bobby Au Yueng's. Haha, very very interesting experience indeed ^^

I also took a lot of pictures of a certain Korean actor who has wowed millions with his portrayal of Lord Min in Dae Jang Geum. Saw him and Sandra Ng promoting their new movie Perhaps Love at Times Square. Oooooo... so exciting!!! Soooooo handsome!!!!!

Of course, there're lots more. All in all a fun trip! Will post up the pics as soon as I get the card reader from my brother, again. >.<

Yes yesss!!! I saw him Funn! I saw Ji Jin Hee!! I can't really tell tall or not cos he was standing on the stage and I was a distance away. I was actually looking from the side of the stage and he did look handsome, more handsome than in the shows. Will post the pics asap! Too bad my zoom function wasn't powerful enough...

Yep, strange to go all the way to HK and see a Korean actor. Haha. And this is my first star sighting overseas!!!

Only 4 days mah, quite a short trip. But I think we've covered enough within these 4 days at a comfortable enough pace. So just nice.
