current happenings
Lots of things, no time to blog.
Ok, starting from last Tuesday. I went for a job interview.
Wait... haven't I got a job already?
I actually sent out this application way before I found my current job, in January, to be precise. So I was pretty surprised when I received a call from a certain VWO to interview for the position of Psychologist. I took half-day off for the 1st interview, was asked questions regarding my knowledge of the intellectually disabled and how to assess and recommend interventions for a case study that was presented. Most challenging interview I've ever been in, I would say, as it really stretched my ability to remember what I learnt at school. But I guess that my work as counsellor did help a little in analysing the case. Anyhow, they have asked me to go back for a 2nd interview on Monday.
Should I even be thinking of a job switch when I'm barely 5 months into my current job? I should be paid much more if I did switch jobs, though it's a whole new world out there with a whole new group of people to work with...
I see about that after Monday...
At about the same time, yet another actor told me that he was facing some pressure at home hence he would like to drop out of the play. He expressed worry for the situation but I frankly told him that I'd rather he drop out. So I'm facing one actor short. And the funny thing is, I've noticed that my cast has been getting smaller and smaller with each rehearsal. Lots of actors/actresses have been MIA, uncontactable souls who don't even bother to leave a message when they can't make it down for rehearsals.
We've been progressing with the play, which is the good news, though I have been forced to skip many parts along the way cos the characters just aren't turning up.
On the other side of the coin, however, rehearsal does have it's fun moments. I've been trying to capture these funny moments with my camcorder but as always, such things come so spontaneously that I've barely caught any so far. Mainly, I've been using the camcorder to record their progress in a scene, to help them see for themselves how they act and talk from a 3rd party's point of view, so that they would be more aware of themselves as actors and adjust accordingly. It's been pretty useful, but I'm trying hard not to rely too much on that.
Lastly, a joyous occassion that happened today. My brother officially got married. Weird feeling to see my brother and his girlfriend...I mean 'wife'... with wedding bands and saying their vows. Extra member in the family now.
And gosh! I'm really really FAT now! I looked horriby huge and flabby in that dress...
And the saddest thing is, I can't control my eating. Dieting doesn't work anymore. I can't keep that.

Good luck on your 2nd interview. In my opinion, if that is the job you were really looking for then go for it.
I won't bother to tell you not to worry about your weight. Some of us may say that we don't, but in reality we do care. Whenever we look in the mirror, read some clothing magazines or watch some fashion shows we still have that little wish to be just a little thinner. The society has shaped our minds to be this way. No use trying to deny it.
There is a book called "Eat Right 4 Your Type" by Peter D'Adamo. You might be able to find this in the library, book stores or health shops. It's not about dieting but more in the line of health. It tells of eating food and exercises according to your blood type. The Back Cover under this Amazon link gives a little summary: http://www.amazon.com/gp/sitbv3/reader/ref=sib_dp_pt/104-4981034-2096726?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=039914255X#reader-link
So will your sister-in-law be moving in with your family or will your brother be moving out?
