fat fat fat...
I went back to the doctor for my routine Thyroid check-up and part of it is to check my weight. Well, it's final. I'm probably up to an XL now at a whooping 58kg....

oh my goodness.. u r just less than 5 kg lighter than me..
Take heart.. Just exercise more often and you'll be fine..
Use the stairs instead of the lift.
Alight at the earlier bus stop and walk..
And many more..
No need to run 10 km..
thank you patrick for adding on to my depression cos i am doing all your suggestions and more...
and you know, the funny thing that it sounds so easy, like using the stairs instead of the lift, and walking a longer distance by alighting one bus stop earlier and all, but slap on a pair of high heels and see how far you can go with that. i feel that i am already doing an incredible feat by taking the stairs and walking to the station rather than taking the bus while sacrificing my feet at the same time (it's sore with full of blisters). and if that's not enough, i walk much more than an average office worker cos i travel from centre to centre and within centre also. and the best thing is, i eat less than what my co-workers are eating, with my co-workers always commenting on how i can feel full by eating just that amount of rice...
i guess it's just frustrating. extremely frustrating. in fact, so frustrating that sometimes i tell myself, to heck with looking slim...
Pearl, is it possible to get a pair of walking shoes for travel and bring along the high heels for in office use? Or just simply wear flats? Or this not well accepted by working female Singaporeans? Or am I not getting the idea yet? I guess not because I work in a male-oriented field where I have to wear steel-toed and plated work shoes around the shop areas. And steel-toed and plated work shoes don't come in high heels. Hehe!
And no, you're not fat. At 58 kgs, you're certainly not fat at all. How tall are you? According to the BMI Scale, if you are 152.4 cm or taller, this is an acceptable weight. (Information source: Internet) It takes more than this to make it up to an XL, unless the sizes are slightly smaller in Singapore than the rest of the world.:) Have you been doing lots of muscle building exercises? Some of the weight could be muscles and not fat.
I guess everyone's metabolism is different. An underweight person and an overweight person eating and exercising the same will probably not end up having the same weight ever. Pretty disheartening, I know, but this is what makes us all different. If everyone is thin, then no one is thin. If everyone is beautiful, then no one is beautiful. If everyone is smart, then no one is smart. If everyone is rich, then no one is rich. Yah, yah, yah. I'll stop now.
