un pensamiento para ti...

it's december already???
Gosh! When was the last time I updated my blog???
Lot's of things happening around me... Let me see...
1) Spanish
Si! I have survived through Beginner 1 for my Spanish lessons and I have 'gungho-ly' signed up for another 10 lessons of Beginner 2 lessons which will start next Wed. This time it will include a final exam to obtain a certificate. I remember getting more and more 'blur' with each lesson during the Beginner 1 course, wonder if it will get worse for Beginner 2??
2) Love in my life?
My brother's getting married on the 10th, my family friend's daughter getting married on the 4th, a colleague's getting married in January. It's the season for love except for myself! Actually, I think I had a crush on someone lately, but like all crushes before, it was a case of 有缘无份 (translation: fated to meet but not fated to be together). Sigh...
Anyway, been busy shopping for clothings and acesseries for the wedding day. Spent sooo much money!!! Yet can't be helped! I can't fit into my old clothes anymore!!
3) Much-needed break!
I've applied for a one-week leave in Dec! Yay!!
4) CLDDS
It's an exciting time for the AJC CLDDS and the alumni. Last month, the new CLDDS teacher-in-charge contacted me to initiate a collaboration between the current batch and the alumni. Happens that the new CLDDS teacher is a former classmate of mine and unlike previous teachers, she appeared to be really committed to reviving the past glory of CLDDS! Hooray!! Finally, a ray of hope!!
The current batch will have a meeting this Tuesday to discuss about future plans for the CCA, and the teacher has invited us to be involved. She also has many other plans which may actually work in bringing CLDDS out of the slumps! I see great things for us to come!
5) Movies
Missed The Prestige and have vowed to get the DVD once it's out.
Have recently purchased the Superman Returns DVD and that has re-ignited my liking for Brandon Routh as Superman. What a gorgeous hunk! And watching the special features about the making of Superman Returns has increased my awe for director Bryan Singer. A capable and enigmatic filmmaker indeed. Can you believe he's already 41!!!??? He looks like a kid in his 20s.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest DVD is out too!!! But too poor now, must save up first...
No other nice movies lately, apart from Flags of Our Father which I heard is really good but unfortunately is a war movie and I don't watch war movies.
Read a movie guide supplement that came with one issue of 8-Days and found that Children of Men will be out in 2007. I would wanna watch that one. And Geez! Didn't the writer of that guide watch the trailer?? They got the most important fact wrong!
6) Kevin Cheng and UTCOL
Kevin Cheng won the Best Actor Award for his role in Under The Canopy of Love at the TVB Anniversary Awards. Before I could fully recover from this shocker, I realized that he was also nominated for Best Drama Performance by an Actor at the 11th Asian Television Awards held on the 30th Nov!!! Now that's a prestigous one, like a 'real' awards show! And he was nominated alongside some solid actors like Roger Kwok in Life Made Simple and Adrian Pang in Portrait of Home II!!!
See the nomination list here.
Indian actor Mathialagan M from Mediacorp's Vasantham Channel walked home with the award in the end. But still, to be nominated for this award is quite something. Why??? How did he get nominated???
However, the biggest shocker is still Aaron Kwok, who won his 2nd Best Actor Award at the Golden Horse Awards held on 25th Nov 2006 in to consecutive years. I wonder if acting standards are changing?
7) Thyroid
Still there, not much change. Quite irritating....
8) Work
Settling in. Getting very busy and starting to doubt my ability at the job. Luckily I have very supportive colleagues and supervisors. But how much can I depend on them? I really need to upgrade constantly...
9) It's December!!
It's the end of the year!!! Start making your new year resolutions!!
