dubbing artistes
I am always full of admiration for Western dubbing artistes, always filling thier voices so full of passion that you could almost remove the images and simply listen to visualize the story.
This clip shows the recording session of a song routine in The Producers, a musical taken straight from Broadway. Just watch how they are bringing their characters to life despite the fact that it's just a vocal recording session...
Stars Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick and Gary Beach, who reprise their roles in the Broadway theatre version.
Then of course, you have to see the end result. A hilarious moment in the movie!

I saw this movie 2 days ago. Although at times I find it boring, and then I realised it was Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane who were boring, especially Matthew Broderick. That scene you included in here is one of my favourite scenes, apart from Will Farrell intro scene and the ending Nazi stage show. THAT was really funny, especially that cross dressing gay director playing Hitler, you can just imagine the end results. I suspect the broadway show would be better.
I'm sure the Broadway show would have been better too cos even the way they act is just so apt in theatre.
Boring? Well, I have to agree to a certain extent as in it kinda fell short of my expectations as an entertaining movie but there are still some gems of a moment. Still, I suppose watching it from a theatre perspective helps the appreciation of the whole thing but then again it would mean that it would be more worthwhile to see the Broadway production instead.
Still an enjoyable movie, IMHO :) I personally liked the chemistry between Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane.
