CB's singing
"how does Christian Bale sound like when he's singing?"
He sounds quite ok to me, adequate and pleasant. Though if u're thinking of AI standards, Simon would probably be itching to slap him all round with criticisms even before he finishes his first verse.

Oooh thank you very much. Very eager to hear him sing. Now will probably be very eager to find this movie and see him dance! Read some very favourable reviews for pocahontas!
Is that him? How old was he? Truth be told, he sang just like all those broadway stars, who aren't very good singers anyway. Can do lar! Yep, Simon will slap him around but you know what? Paula and Randy will probably let him through and everybody would vote for him and he could have been the next AI.
Broadway singer? Well, the entire movie was maeant to be broadway style. Even the dancing was very 'broadway'.
Oh, dancing was definitely much better than singing. Very nifty moves which looked awesome at first glance and it takes repeated viewing to pick out the flaws. Haha.
Actually I did download a clip once which showed some scenes with him dancing, including the solo one. It's really a fan video put together by Newsies fans (so it's with some other song at the background), but I have to dig it out, not sure where it is and I can't remember where I downloaded it from. See if I can upload it...
He was 17 years old at that time. I remember watching the making-of that came with the DVD (it was made when they were filming Newsies). It was quite interesting cos they interviewed the adolescent Bale and he said that it took him a long time and lots of courage for him to admit to people that he was indeed appearing in a musical :).
Pearl do find the clip!! Really wanna see. Can't seem to buy this movie except maybe online.
When I said Broadway I mean he sang like those Broadway stars would. So if he is good, that means he has the standard of a professional. But admittedly he was wobbly and my conclusion is even Broadway stars sing that way which means Broadway aren't real singing at all!!
By the way you mentioned Jazz classes. Jazz the music or Jazz the dancing? Is there such a thing called a Jazz dance?
I was referring to Jazz dancing. Yup, there is a style called Jazz dancing, and the most common style of Jazz is probably those u see in broadway musicals :)
