Lots of his friends at the wake today said that they had just seen him in his usual fun-loving self barely a day ago, when the news came that he had passed away in his sleep. They said it was an asthma attack that had not happened in years which claimed his youthful spirit.

If only his family had not gone overseas. If only he did not have the habit of locking his room door when he sleeps. If only his best buddy had stayed over that faithful night.

At the end of it all, you just can't fight fate.

But for this to happen at a tender age of 21, this is just too much to bear. It's devastating, and scary, and hearbreaking to even think about it.

The first thing I thought about was his family. How can they cope with such a thing?

But he died with a smile, that eases the pain a little. And if nothing else, I hope he is comforted by the fact that he had so many good friends who stood by him till the end.

I wonder if I would have that many good friends when my time comes.
